The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is the brilliant, holistic system of physical fitness and wellness created by Juliu Horvath in the mid-1970’s. A professional dancer, Mr. Horvath found his career ended abruptly by a catastrophic injury. He created the GYROTONIC® Method as a way to retain his dancer’s suppleness and quality of movement without being an active dancer.

The main objective of GYROTONIC® movement is to feel at home in your body. It is frequently described as meditative movement and particular emphasis is placed on the quality of the breath used in class.

Every class includes a systematic series of soft and gentle movements performed with the perfect balance of strength and ease, for the purpose of opening the body, balancing the body’s energy flow, and moving in harmony with energetic intention.

TMS utilizes the Pulley Tower, the most common piece of GYROTONIC® equipment. It finds resistance and support in a sophisticated pulley system with the addition of free weights. Exercises on the Pulley Tower range from relaxing mobility exercises to challenging exercises that necessitate impressive strength, range of motion, and flow.
